Frontend Or Backend. Which Should I Go For?Cräcky⚡
What if I told you I haven’t had more than 5 hours of sleep since Thursday? No one asked right? Don’t mind me. One troublesome designer has been on my neck lately that I even forgot that today is Saturday. I’d probably take a break tomorrow as there should be public holiday, Hehe. After all, my brand will be 3-months old tomorrow.?
Well, here I am, exhausted, typing with the little strength I have left. Funniest aspect is that I still have a class by 9PM, also clashing with a football match I’ve been longing for. The timing is just so off.
So, Frontend or Backend…. which one should you pursue? Before we get to that, I have this friend of mine that hates the sound of “frontend or backend” because to him, the terms look unprofessional. Personally, I do nott have a problem with either of them as they both look legit to me at least. As a geek, you might refer to them as Web technologies rather than their individual terms.
What is Frontend Development?
From the name itself, the frontend of a website is what you see and interact with on your browser. The texts, the colors, the images and everything the user experiences directly. We can refer to them as “Client side”.
What is Backend development?
The backend of a website is a section of a website that you don’t see. We can refer to them as “server side”. Don’t get it twisted, the backend communicates with the frontend, sending and receiving information to be displayed as a web Page. For instance, a new Zen wants to register on the Code Academy website. He/she inputs the details(on the frontend) and once the register button is clicked on, it communicates with the database saving the new details/information to the database.(on the backend).
Also note that static websites do not really need a backend as the contents on the webpages are in the frontend code itself. Small businesses portfolios are some examples of static websites, While dynamic websites are for the blogs, Portals(Download or School) etc.
So, we would talk more on the learning aspect of the technologies during the next phase and that should give you the guide on which technology you should go for. Stay updated!
And em, Leo is back!! ?
